PATIENTS AND FAMILIES
Children aren’t little adults. Some medical conditions are specific to children. Medical diagnoses and treatments (and even some surgical tools!) need to be specialized for a child’s developmental stage and size.
It can be scary and overwhelming to learn your child needs surgery. The Patient and Families resource pages are designed to help you better understand what is happening when considering pediatric surgery.
Visit the PedSurg Resource site to research your child’s medical condition, fetal counseling, pain management, and more.
ANNUAL MEETINGS
The APSA Annual Meeting is designed to provide comprehensive continuing education in the field of pediatric surgery. APSA strives to bring together the world’s leading pediatric surgery authorities to present and discuss the most recent clinical and basic science research efforts. This meeting covers the breadth of pediatric surgery and is intended to acquaint attendees with the latest research findings, clinical discoveries, and trends that influence the day-to-day practice of pediatric surgery. The topics at these sessions have been selected by the Program and Professional Development Committees and approved by the APSA Board of Governors. Additional sessions overseen by other APSA Committees address topics unique to specific areas of interest within the specialty and include both educational topics as well as novel clinical and basic science research.
