CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION

ExPERT CME Program

The APSA ExPERT (Exam-based Pediatric surgery Educational Reference Tool) CME platform provides integrated self-assessment and continuous certification CME credits. Use it as an information resource and as a real-time, point-of-care knowledge reference or all of the above. ExPERT is designed to help practicing pediatric surgeons incorporate the available medical literature into the care of their patients.

Try It Now

Test ExPERT (and yourself!) with this 12-question test on Wilms Tumor. See the references, discussion and your final score.

ExPERT content is generated in response to practice gaps identified by APSA. Questions and discussions are authored and submitted to the APSA Professional Development Committee (PDC) for review. Each discussion contains the initials of the author and final reviewer. APSA is indebted to our content authors and reviewers.

Pediatric Surgery NaT

What does “NaT” stand for?

From the beginning, one of the main goals of the Pediatric Surgery NaT has been to take a step beyond textbooks, beyond e-textbooks. The project was nicknamed “APSA (Not a) Textbook,” which then was shortened to NaT.

From presentation to procedures to long-term outcomes, the Pediatric Surgery NaT resource keeps the current general surgical care of children at your fingertips.

Designed for both practicing and in-training pediatric surgeons, the Pediatric Surgery NaT is updated quarterly so you will know what strategies, techniques and procedures are being used right now. It is written for pediatric surgeons by pediatric surgeons and contains learning objectives, images, videos and links to MOC CME and the medical literature. To take advantage of the MOC CME, you also need to be subscribed to ExPERT.

  • Organized by clinical modules and learning objectives
  • High-resolution images and videos
  • Perform advanced searches of the medical literature
  • Links to relevant PubMed articles
  • Submit feedback, commentary and interesting cases
  • Robust, cross-platform integration when subscribed to ExPERT
  • Integrated with the American Board of Surgery SCORE curriculum
