I am saddened to report that APSA and pediatric surgery has lost one of its greatest leaders. Dr. Jay Grosfeld died October 18, 2016, at the age of 81.
Dr. Grosfeld served as APSA President, President of the American Surgical Association, Vice President of the American College of Surgeons and perhaps most importantly, as the stalwart leader and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Pediatric Surgery since 1994.
More information will be forthcoming, but we wanted to share our thoughts and prayers with Margie, his family and the entire pediatric surgery community.
Dr. Grosfeld truly loved APSA and his chosen field of pediatric surgery. We have lost a guiding light. He will be sorely missed.
