INDUSTRY & INSTITUTIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

APSA Committees carry out a number of different critical functions for the association.

Vision: a declaration of mid- or long-term goals

The Industry and Institutional Advisory Committee is dedicated to providing financial support for educational and research-related opportunities to APSA and its membership. The committee seeks to establish institutional partnerships with children’s hospitals and pediatric surgery departments related to fundraising efforts to support the dissemination of important educational content, including unique institutional expertise. Simultaneously, the committee also seeks to foster new and established relationships with industry partners. The industry-related goals of the committee are to identify current and potential industry partners that share our mission of improving the surgical care of infants and children in diverse communities and assess current support and potential for future support through re-engagement with our current partners and making a concerted effort to engage new industry partners. The committee will strive to develop internal mechanisms to identify support needs within APSA, coordinate outreach to institutional and industry partners, and assist with securing support for identified needs. Funding support may be in the form of increased annual conference exhibit participation, general meeting support, APSA Foundation support, and/or unrestricted educational grants to support contemporary and/or evolving areas of pediatric surgical care. Once our immediate goals are achieved, the committee will seek to engage with institutional and industry partners to accomplish specific goals on an annual basis.

Mission: statement of purpose

The Industry and Institutional Advisory Committee seeks to establish an internal framework within APSA to develop and foster on-going relationships with institutional and industry partners for the purpose of financial support for the organization and its educational offerings and CME-related activities.
