Please join us for a Celebration of Life in memory of Dr. John Campbell on Friday, May 19th at 5pm in the Vey Auditorium of Doernbecher Children’s Hospital (11th Floor, 700 SW Campus Dr., Portland, OR 97239. Reception to follow. We encourage both faculty and residents to attend! RSVP with this invitation.
John ‘Jack’ Richard Campbell, M.D. (1932 – 2022)
Professor Emeritus of Surgery and Pediatrics
As the first Pediatric Surgeon at OHSU and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital (DCH), Dr. Campbell served for more than 30 years as head of the Division of Pediatric Surgery. Dr. Campbell was the first Surgeon-in-Chief of Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and served as Chair of the Department of Surgery at OHSU from 1984 to 1986. Although Dr. Campbell retired in 1998 as Professor Emeritus, he maintained strong ties to OHSU and DCH. The annual John R. Campbell, M.D. Lectureship in Pediatric Surgery was established in his honor.
